Urgent no-contact reset

I broke no contact last night. What now?

One slip is not the same as losing all progress. The risk now is turning one contact into a longer loop of explaining, apologizing, checking, and waiting.

Do this for the next 10 minutes

  1. Stop the thread. Do not send a follow-up explanation from panic.
  2. Write what triggered the slip: time, feeling, access point.
  3. Add one boundary that would have made contact harder.
  4. Restart the streak today without turning it into shame.

The urge to explain can feel responsible, but it often keeps the loop open. Reset privately first.

Use the slip as data

Look for the pattern: late night, alcohol, loneliness, social media, birthdays, jealousy, or a need for reassurance. Then add friction before that window returns.
