No contact day 3 urge: what to do right now
Day 3 can feel worse because the first shock is wearing off and the reality of silence is landing. A spike today does not mean no contact is failing.
Do this for the next 10 minutes
- Name the urge: relief, reassurance, closure, control, or reaction.
- Write the message privately and do not send it.
- Do one grounding action for 60 seconds.
- Choose one visible replacement action for the next 10 minutes.
The urge can rise before it falls
No-contact healing is not a straight line. Some hours will feel calm and then suddenly urgent again. That wave pattern is normal after attachment disruption.
Do not turn day 3 into a referendum
You do not have to decide whether no contact will work forever. You only need to protect the next 10 minutes.
