No contact day 3 urge: what to do right now

Day 3 can feel worse because the first shock is wearing off and the reality of silence is landing. A spike today does not mean no contact is failing.

Do this for the next 10 minutes

  1. Name the urge: relief, reassurance, closure, control, or reaction.
  2. Write the message privately and do not send it.
  3. Do one grounding action for 60 seconds.
  4. Choose one visible replacement action for the next 10 minutes.

The urge can rise before it falls

No-contact healing is not a straight line. Some hours will feel calm and then suddenly urgent again. That wave pattern is normal after attachment disruption.

Do not turn day 3 into a referendum

You do not have to decide whether no contact will work forever. You only need to protect the next 10 minutes.
